Roy Daugherty
also known as Arkansas Tom Jones, was an American outlaw and a member of the Wild Bunch gang. During his time as a member, he robbed banks, trains and killed Deputy Marshal Thomas Hueston during a shootout. He was sentenced to fifty years, but due to his two preacher brothers campaigning on his behalf, he was paroled in 1910. For two years he ran a restaurant in Oklahoma, but became bored and returned to robbing banks. He remained on the run until tracked and killed during a gunfight by Joplin Police Detective Leonard H. “Len” Vandeventer.
